Briquettes: Pini Kay VS RUF
Our RUF and Pini Kay briquettes are biofuel made from the premium wood sawdust for fireplaces, stoves and boilers. This is a quality type of heating that will help to reduce the costs during the cold seasons.
Below I have evaluated the main similarities and differences of both briquette types which we believe would be helpful for our customers.
Environmentally friendly production process reusing commercial sawdust.
Both briquette types produce a higher heating value then traditional alternatives (or gross calorific value/gross energy) of approximately 4400-4600 kcal.
The burn duration is longer than traditional alternatives which will save you money as it gives a slow and steady heat output.
Briquettes take minimum space and look very neat in the storage area.
They are packed in a very convenient way and each bag weighs 10 kg with 12 briquettes inside.
The moisture content varies from 7% to 11% compared. Much lower than traditional firewood.
However, there are few differences between Pini Kay and RUF. Mostly it’s the colour and the shape of the briquettes. RUF is made in the shape of a brick, while Pini Kay is made in the shape of a cylinder with a hole. Both types are made under pressure, however more pressure is being used in the production of Pini Kay. Moreover, it’s going under heat treatment, hence it has a different colour (burnt surface) on the outside. RUF on the other hand is also going under a very high pressure, thus it’s easier to get the uniform size without using the binders.
